Clayton moves on to Mrs. Gordner's class on the finer points of fishing.

Candace gradually transitions from behind the book to...

...behind the hook.

I haven't had a single bite. I could use a bite. Maybe we should stop for a snack.

"Anyone hungry?" -Mr. Gordner

Forget the snack. I'll settle for a nap.

"There's a reason they call it fishing, not catching." -Mr. Gordner

Maybe it's time to start praying.

The Fisherman's Serenity Prayer

God grant me the vision
to dream of catching fish...

...the focus to visualize
myself catching fish...

...the faith to believe
that I will catch fish...

...and the wisdom
to keep the freezer stocked
with hamburgers and hot dogs.

We may not have the fish, but at least we have the chips.

The slime of worms is replaced with the slime of Clorox wipes.

*sarcastically* Choking on a fish bone maybe?

"Fishing is the sport of drowning worms." And catching leaves, I might add.

Time to launch plan B.

Motors might be permitted on the lake but...

Left behind, we decide to do a little traveling of our own via the "Go Travel" game.
