Great American artist Norman Rockwell once said, “I paint what everybody sees but nobody notices.” On this blog, my ambition is to capture, with photographs, what he did in his paintings: everyday life, its foibles, and its funny situations. Norman Rockwell illustrated the cover of the Saturday Evening Post (an actual magazine) for many years. Since I usually post every other Saturday, I thought the name very applicable. (See this post for more detail.)

That cake is SO amazing!! I love it! Who, may I ask was the artist behind it, and how difficult is it to construct?? My nephew loves Thomas... would be fun to make him one... (or not:{ )

I like the way you ask that: "Would it be fun... or not?" Hard question.
The decorating actually went pretty fast on this one - it had to; I had a piano student coming. :) The tough part is that it uses a specially shaped pan. (I would be glad to let you borrow it.) Shaped pans can be messy I found. At least when it was done baking, there was still more cake in the pan than there was on the bottom of the oven. Also, thankfully the burnt, smoky smell didn't last more than a day. ;-)
